Grant Thornton Netherlands, the top 10 accounting and consulting firm, implements Dayshape’s AI-powered resource management software to strengthen the firm’s resource management function now and as the firm continues to grow.
Edinburgh, UK, July 23, 2024 – Dayshape, a software company using AI technology to power professional services planning, welcomes Grant Thornton Netherlands as a live customer. Grant Thornton Netherlands, known for being passionate about the firm’s national and international work and clients, selects Dayshape to enable data-led scheduling decisions for better client and employee experiences.
Matt Cockett, newly appointed CEO of Dayshape, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “We’re delighted to have been chosen as a future-fit solution for another region within the Grant Thornton network. With our two AI scheduling modes, Grant Thornton Netherlands can optimize resource scheduling on a task-by-task basis or in bulk.”
Grant Thornton Netherlands, with over 700 employees across eight locations in the Netherlands, was previously using functionality within an ERP system as well as spreadsheets to manage resources. This combination was rudimentary in terms of visibility, providing only the name of the resource and the number of hours worked within a week, limiting the firm’s effectiveness. After deciding to upgrade its ERP system, the firm then lost this basic scheduling offering but took the opportunity to mature by investing in a dedicated resource management solution.
Remko Lagendijk, Assurance Partner at Grant Thornton Netherlands shared: “We considered quite a few solutions but after speaking with fellow member firms in the network such as Grant Thornton UK and Grant Thornton Ireland we were encouraged and convinced to choose Dayshape.”

With Dayshape’s comprehensive Gantt, Grant Thornton Netherlands now has complete visibility of resourcing options. Added to that, the firm can use Dayshape’s two AI scheduling modes, Assist and Advise to provide peace of mind that task allocation is optimized, based on who is best suited to working on a particular engagement.
Such functionality allows Grant Thornton Netherlands to not only consider current skills (such as languages), certifications, and work experience of resources when allocating work, but also work preferences, utilization rates, and whether the resource has already been given a task on a specific engagement. Together, this suitability criteria provides a powerful metric which enables Grant Thornton Netherlands to provide a healthy work-life balance for its people, deliver quality client services, and empower the resourcing team to make efficient and informed scheduling decisions.
Remko Lagendijk added: “We want Grant Thornton Netherlands to be the firm where people work on projects they want to work on. With a comprehensive but intuitive scheduling interface that allows us to match skills and preferences to work, Dayshape will enable us to deliver great employee and client experiences.”
